Abhayaloka Retreat Centre

Abhayaloka, the Retreat Centre of the Helsinki Buddhist Community

The retreat centre operates in the premises of the old country school in Järventausta in Läyliäinen on the shore of Lake Loppijärvi.

We recommend that you have either visited Triratna’s open evenings or participated in the centre’s basic meditation course before coming to Abhayaloka for the first time.

The retreat centre is a place of silence and purification. Intoxicants and tobacco therefore do not belong to Abhayaloka.

The retreat centre has facilities for about 25 people. Accommodation is in rooms for 1-6 people.

All the food at the retreat is vegan food, which we prepare together. In addition to this, there is cheese on top of the bread for those who want it.
